7th Son - Daniel Lemma
Composed by:Daniel Lemma
I was born here once upon a time
The 7th son and the stars aligned
I was named after St Mikael
I was baptized in a holy well
The priest took me from my mamas arms
He said he's the one with the lucky charm
Wind will blow him to distant lands
But he'll set foot here a grown man
And from a leather pouch inside his robe
The old man took out a coin of gold
And said the priest
To the small congregation
Let this be a day of celebration
And in the shade of a warka tree
Go dig a hole
And bury this piece of gold
For the benefit of this young man
That he will one day understand
In this land and in this mud
And running through his blood
There's a treasure
And a great mystic flowing
Flowing
You don't have a kwan kwan
You don't know the road
You have no alliances
And you don't know the code
The nights are full
Of novel sounds
The wind tumbles
And the river runs
And always a crowd wherever you go
Fowl in the market
And cattle on the road
Mosque on the corner
And a church on the hill
People idle on the sidewalk
People busy in the fields
Rain like hammer on a tin roof
You're wide awake in your bed
Kiremt is coming
Turn the black river red
Inside the darkness something lives
And inside the man something gives
In this land in this mud
Running through my blood
There's a treasure
And a mystic flowing
Flowing
