Instinct is flowing through familiar paths
They lead us right back to the start
Behind the smoke there's just mirrors
We're staring back at the cause
If only the past could make the future clearer
But it's not what we thought; we're not being surrounded
Somehow they lead us to that grave
That was the funeral of all our beliefs
We wore black
We faded
And then they act like pulling teeth would be preferred
Like any time spent in these shoes is hell
I'm doing everything I can
But we're fruitless without the means
We're stifled
Held back by instinct
So I watch the fire chase my tongue and follow my lungs
Hoping, at the very least, to find a moments peace
What's to blame? Where does it lie?
If it's still undiscovered, how long will it hide?
These days of clouded vision are all we have
For now
All we have for now
All we see in clouds
Through the doubt
From six foot underground
Somehow they lead us to that grave
That was the funeral of all our beliefs
