Adulting is Hard

Some life lessons

Y'know, you live and you learn

What else can I say

My role is to teach

But this is not a school

Nor am I a principle

My goal is to always build you up

And make you feel invincible

So if I get upset and break you down,

Of course I feel miserable

The only thing I want

Is for our bond to be truly indivisible

I know I'm not the best

I lack a lot of patience and precision

All I wanna do is teach you

How to make good decisions

I try to set the example

But I know I'm always falling short

I mess up all kinds of ways

And there's examples of all sorts

My job is to prepare you

To face whatever danger brings

Once you think you've faced it all

There's always stranger things

When you fail as a man

You do what it takes

But take it on the chin

When you fail as a parent

The guilt eats you from within

Tamagotchi, Pokemon or Roblox

I'm not here to ruin it

I'm here to watch, cheer and support

As you have fun while you're doing it

I never want to hurt your feelings

Or be the father who insults you

I want to be the Dad you confide in

And consoles you

I do think of, if my attitude didn't stink,

How things could be

I'm sorry for my actions

And not being what I should be
