Smart
the horses and hounds
together with man
are off to hunt
the fox again
it seems a magical fox
a hundred years old
never been caught
never been shot
that's a smart fox
there's a story
that the fox once was a man
that lived a life really bad
a murderer
a killer
a butcher of men
who's never been caught
never been shot
never was hanged
that's a smart man
but there's an older story
that the man once was a bird
a crow I have heard
with strong beak and black wings
following the wind
watching from roofs and trees
wondering all that's going on
that's a smart crow
that crow was once a turtle
before he was an ant
a whale, a pig, a spider
a snake, a shark, an ape
dog, eagle, cockroach
chicken, mouse, dinosaur
shrimp, mosquito, elephant
that's a smart whatever it is
