Bite the hand
That feeds me
Appease me
Spite ties the knot in my stomach
And when it all leads back to
A wound so tender and fresh
I can’t help finding fulfilment
Digging carving loathing
Oh delight
Leave it out to dry
The life I found seemed so sanctified
(appealing, it breathes deep)
But my frame wilts at the sight of it all
(I’ve sunk so low into the earth)
And now I find myself here,
The sun is curdling cruel
I’m long gone, a withering idle
Stagger, scalding, nothing could tear me
Away
I know, it’s such a shame
Not hard to find
A tough place to shine
Head-splitting incline
Shameful, killing my time
(Ahh ahh)
She’ll see it to believe it
(Ahh ahh)
I’ll believe it when I see it
Heat rising
I didn’t even come close
Sun rotting
I’ve never felt more at home in
this deafening
High
Rearranging my luck
In jagged lines
So apathetic to vivid desires that pass me by
Guilty and glorified
Why should I have to dignify?
