How was your day?
Spent the whole day
Laughing at things I barely heard
Nodding my head
Like everything was working out
Then I caught the late bus home
Watching storefronts blur past the glass
And for the first time all day
It finally got quiet enough to think
Maybe I don't give myself
Enough credit for getting through it
We all carry things
We don't know how to talk about
Conversations we replay
Long after everyone's gone
And somehow
We still wake up and do it again
Somebody should ask
How was your day?
Not because the answer changes anything
But because sometimes it helps to say
Yeah I got tired
Yeah I almost gave up
Yeah it wasn't pretty
But I made it here somehow
And maybe that's enough
For tonight
Used to think happiness
Was something waiting down the road
A better job
A different city
A little more money in my account
Now I think it's dinner
With the people that I love
And making it back home
Without the world falling apart
Funny how
The things that matter most
Were never very far away
Some days feel heavy
For no reason at all
And some nights
You just need somebody
To notice
Somebody should ask
How was your day?
Not because they have the answers
But because they care enough to stay
Yeah I got tired
Yeah I lost my way
Yeah I carried things
I didn't know how to say
And maybe that's enough
For tonight
If your shoulders feel heavy
You don't have to carry everything alone
The strongest people I know
Are the ones who finally said
They're not okay
And if nobody told you today
I'm proud of you
For making it this far
Somebody should ask
How was your day?
And maybe for once
You'd tell the truth
Instead of saying you're okay
Yeah it was hard
Yeah it left a mark
Yeah there were moments
I thought I'd fall apart
But I'm still here
Still breathing
Still trying
Still learning
And maybe that's enough
For tonight
How was your day?
I hope you made it through
