"The Last Cowboy’s Ride"
Dust rises on a lonesome trail,
Golden sun paints the sky so pale.
Boots worn thin from the miles I’ve seen,
Chasing sunsets, living free.
Mama prayed for me every night,
Daddy said, “Son, hold on tight.”
But the road kept callin’, I had to go,
With the wind at my back and a rodeo soul.
I'm the last cowboy ridin’ on through,
Where the open sky meets the lonesome blue.
One hand on the reins, one heart in the past,
A legend that time couldn’t outlast.
I loved a girl with eyes so wide,
Promised her one day I’d set roots and try.
But the stars had a different plan for me,
A ramblin’ soul ain't meant to be free.
Thunder rolls, and the river cries,
Another town, another goodbye.
Some were born for settlin’ down,
But I was made for ridin’ out.
I'm the last cowboy ridin’ on through,
Where the open sky meets the lonesome blue.
One hand on the reins, one heart in the past,
A legend that time couldn’t outlast.
Someday when the dust finally fades,
They’ll tell my story, they’ll sing my name.
But I’ll be ridin’ where the wild ones go,
Just a cowboy chasing the great unknown.
