[00:10.38]We all four grew up together in a small
[00:16.95]Virginia country town
[00:20.76]And for some strange reason
[00:24.42]God only knows we got to singin' around
[00:32.04]And about twice a year at the
[00:35.04]National Guard
[00:36.45]Armory or the old school house we'd go see the
[00:43.11]Blackwood
[00:44.46]Brothers who were coming to town to sing especially for me
[00:53.82]They always drew a crowd of young folk and old women and men with the mortgage on their homes
[01:05.40]Farmers and teachers rich men and preachers the old school house was full and they would come
[01:15.60]And we bought up every album every picture every single their autographs were the only things free
[01:26.61]But the main thing they were sellin' was
[01:29.64]Jesus and good singin' in that old school house where the
[01:34.05]Blackwoods sang for me
[01:36.93]And they would sing
[01:39.75]And they would sing
[01:43.44]Hide me old blest Rock of Ages every day will be
[01:50.22]Sunday by and by
[01:53.61]Heavenly love inside the gates give the world a smile each day
[01:58.92]They were all peace like a river to my soul
[02:03.96]And I want to cross
[02:05.37]I want to cross
[02:07.17]That chilly
[02:07.47]Jordan
[02:08.61]Chilly Jordan
[02:09.57]And
[02:09.75]I want to be more and more like
[02:11.82]Jesus every day
[02:14.97]Rock my soul in the bosom of
[02:17.04]Abraham at the old country church
[02:21.45]God made a way for me that's what the good book says
[02:28.08]How many times
[02:29.43]How many times
[02:31.14]Have we heard them sing those songs
[02:33.84]So many times
[02:34.83]So many times
[02:36.18]They've been our idols for so long
[02:39.60]And God if there's an old school house in
[02:42.45]Heaven let me be somewhere close where
[02:46.44]I can hear
[02:47.55]R W sing for me
[02:52.41]The road the road the road of
[03:11.58]Calvary
[03:17.19]And
[03:17.94]God if there's an old school house in
[03:24.12]Heaven let me be somewhere close where
[03:33.48]I can hear the
[03:37.32]Blackwoods sing for me
