Twenty Years of Fire

Started with sparks, and a fragile dream

Engines bursting at every seam

Scars on my hands, doubts in my head

But I held on to the hope I fed

Twenty years, through the fire and fear

Each explosion whispered,"You're near"

Not just for me, but for all who ride

Safe and swift on the other side

They called me lost, said “let it go”

But I saw futures in pistons’ glow

One idea, through pain and flame

And now the world will know my name

Now engines hum with power and grace

Across the sea, through time and space

I stayed the course, and I broke the chain

So others could move through wind and rain
