I am the flicker in the night, the first who learned to tame the flame
I was the Paleolithic hunter, before I had a name
I carved the first tools from the rock, I walked on stone-hewn ground
Then felt the Neolithic dawn, as villages were bound
I made the first pot with my hands, I sowed the first small seed
And felt the chains of order grow from this most simple deed
I am the timeless wanderer, through cycles I have passed
A spirit broken and reborn, forever built to last
From the dirt and dust, to the stars above I fly
A guilty, silent witness, beneath a changing sky
My metal heart is pounding, to the rhythm of the ages
As I write and burn history's pages
I built the pyramids in sun-scorched sand, a slave beneath the whip
Then died for Rome as legionary on a sinking Punic ship
I sailed with Viking longships to plunder and to burn
Then rode with Mongol hordes from whom the world would never learn
I answered the call for Crusades, with blood upon my soul
Believing every holy lie that made me lose control
I saw my empires turn to ash, my philosophies to dust
I was the king upon the throne, consumed by my own lust
For every golden temple that I built with pious hands
I spilled the blood of brothers on a thousand promised lands
The seeds of every triumph that I claimed to be my creed
Were rooted in the darkness of my own destructive need
I was the genius of the Renaissance, who painted heaven's dome
And the conquistador who brought the plague to a forgotten home
I was the samurai in Edo, with honor as my guide
And the slaver on the galleon, with nowhere left to hide
I signed the great Reformation's text with ink and righteous fire
Then built the first colonial pyre of greed and dark desire
Then came the screens, a glow in every hand
A silent poison spreading, across the weary land
The smartphone era dawned, a false connected grace
Humanity divided, a void in every face
Eyes glazed over, souls lost in the light
Real connection severed, devoured by the night
A digital addiction, binding mind and will
While empathy's last whisper, grows ever cold and still
Our very essence shattered, by what we hold so dear
A hollow generation, consumed by digital fear
I traded human contact for a false and hollow grace
I severed my connection, with the thing I held so dear
I am the timeless wanderer, through cycles I have passed
A spirit broken and reborn, forever built to last
From the dirt and dust, to the stars above I fly
A guilty, silent witness, beneath a changing sky
My metal heart is pounding, to the rhythm of the ages
As I write and burn history's pages
The Web is born, the world connected, then smartphones in our hand
A global crisis hits the market, a crash across the land
Then AI rises, code and logic, a future taking hold...
In Cyberpunk cities drenched in neon, a story to be told
I walk through Dystopian streets, beneath an acid rain
Awaiting the Post-Apocalyptic sun to cleanse the world of pain
And when the final ashes fall upon this dying sun
I'll watch galactic empires rise, when all our time is done
I am the constant, the memory of all we've done
A sentinel of time... until the final dawn is won
