Clouds are breaking in the distance
Silver dripping from the leaves
Everything that felt so heavy
Now is easier to breathe
Funny how the darkest moments
Always teach us how to grow
Every storm that tried to shake us
Only helped us learn to glow
After the rain
Everything has changed
Every broken drop has turned
To beauty once again
After the rain
Nothing feels the same
Now the world is shining brighter
Calling out my name
Puddles catching bits of color
Golden light across the street
Every step feels full of promise
Like the earth beneath is clean
What was once a storm of sorrow
Now becomes a song of grace
Every ending leaves behind it
Something new for us to chase
After the rain
We begin again
Every tear we left behind
Was never all in vain
After the rain
We can feel the change
Like the sky has opened wider
Than it did before the pain
So if thunder comes tomorrow
If the gray returns someday
We will know beyond the shadow
There’s another kind of day
After the rain
Everything has changed
Every broken drop has turned
To beauty once again
After the rain
Nothing feels the same
Now the world is shining brighter
Calling out my name
