The eyes- the way they reach for me
With a touch that freezes over me
I see my face in photographs, seems strange how much remains
I remember on the field when the teacher said to a friend of mine
Do you like looking at the daisies boy'
I stood there, cried, a little inside
Playing in the garden, I found flowers that were blue and wild
I asked Grandmother what they were 'They're forget-me-nots' was her reply
So come through and tell me true you child, who learned so well to hide
What do you need to heal you? Is it flowers at your side?
So now, I looked at you and say, you tried to kill the beauty
And that part of me you hated has survived and visits heaven
Flowers have a face you see and they're better than the one you wear
But I can't help to look at me and see that you're still there
The eyes- the way they reach for me, with a touch that freezes over me
It's me, at three in photographs, seems strange how much remains
