[00:09.43]I remember wearin' straight leg Levis
[00:12.52]Flannel shirts even when they weren't in style
[00:19.09]I remember singin' with Roy Rogers
[00:22.16]At the movies when the west was really wild
[00:29.19]And I was listenin' to the opry
[00:31.81]When all of my friends
[00:33.82]Were diggin' Rock 'n Roll and Rhythm Blues
[00:38.54]I was Country when Country wasn't cool
[00:48.42]I remember circlin' the drive in
[00:51.62]Pullin' up and turnin' down George Jones
[00:58.05]I remember when no one was lookin'
[01:01.21]I was puttin' peanuts in my Coke
[01:08.39]I took a lot of kiddin'
[01:10.82]'Cause I never did fit in
[01:13.23]Now look at everybody
[01:15.37]Tryin' to be what I was then
[01:17.87]I was Country when Country wasn't cool
[01:26.24]Oooh
[01:27.62]I was Country when Country wasn't cool
[01:37.34]I was Country from my hat down to my boots
[01:47.49]I still act and look the same
[01:52.03]What you see ain't nothin' new
[01:56.70]I was Country when Country wasn't cool
[02:26.61]They call us Country bumpkins
[02:28.95]For stickin' to our roots
[02:30.94]I'm just glad we're in a Country
[02:33.68]Where we're all free to choose
[02:35.84]I was Country when Country wasn't cool
[02:45.28]Yeah I was Country when Country wasn't cool
