I heard the alarm
and watched the numbers change
then pulled the covers over my head
and let the morning wait
There's laundry in the corner
there's a message on my phone
there's a list I made on Friday
of a hundred things to get done
But the room is quiet
and my pillow feels too good
I could get up right now
I probably really should
Instead, I'll make some breakfast
wear the oldest shirt I own
put my favorite record on
and leave the busy world alone

till dinner
