Shadows and Light

I saw the moon hide behind the trees

A quiet thief stealing time with ease

The night wrapped me in its cold embrace

Whispered secrets I couldn't face

They pull me apart

A dance of the soul

A war in my heart

Will the dawn come

I counted stars till the morning broke
