Lights outside fade one by one
Thoughts still linger in the night
I once tried so hard to be seen
The more I chased the farther it seemed
Emotions hidden for all these years
Afraid to be seen afraid to be hurt
The more I craved for the crowd
The more I knew it wasn’t peace I found
I slowly let go of my obsessions
No longer begging for the world’s approval
All the unease all the regrets
I leave them to time to settle and rest
I’ve finally made peace with loneliness
No more struggling no more sadness
Watching fireworks rise and fall alone
When my heart is calm I am home
Letting go of the past letting go of the pain
For the rest of my days I’ll live gentle and sane
Walking through the crowd the noise fades away
Some words don’t need to be said
I once wished for someone to hold my hand
But in the end I only had myself again
Wounds have healed scars have faded
Tears have dried my heart’s unshaded
I don’t need anyone to understand
I can live well all on my own
I slowly let go of my obsessions
No longer begging for the world’s approval
All the unease all the regrets
I leave them to time to settle and rest
I’ve finally made peace with loneliness
No more struggling no more sadness
Watching fireworks rise and fall alone
When my heart is calm I am home
Letting go of the past letting go of the pain
For the rest of my days I’ll live gentle and sane
I don’t need everyone to know my pain
Or walk with me through rain
When the wind comes I listen to the wind
When the rain falls I let it begin
With a light inside I’ll never be alone
Shaking hands with my past making peace with my own soul
I’ve finally made peace with loneliness
No more struggling no more sadness
Watching fireworks rise and fall alone
When my heart is calm I am home
Letting go of the past letting go of the pain
For the rest of my days I’ll live gentle and sane
I will live well with myself at last
