We gather every Sunday, singing songs about His love
But Monday through the rest we're living worlds apart from what we're speaking of
We built these walls between us, drew these lines we won't erase
Then wonder why the world can't see Jesus in this place
There's a chair that sits empty where a brother should belong
But we've made him feel unwelcome 'cause his skin don't match our song
And the table that should gather every color, every face
Has become exclusive country clubs we've hidden in His name
How long will we keep missing what He died to make us see?
That the ground is level at the cross where we all meet
We are one body, one family, one hope
Every nation, every color that He chose
Black and white and brown together at His feet
This is what His kingdom looks like when we believe
In Christ there is no Jew or Greek
No slave or free, we're all the same
Beautiful diversity reflecting His great name
We are one body, one body
Let the world see we are one
We've been silent when we should have stood for justice and what's right
Choosing comfort over calling, choosing blindness over sight
We've excused away the prejudice that's hidden in our hearts
While our brothers and our sisters bear the weight of all our scars
It's time to tear down kingdoms we've been building in our pride
Stop defending our traditions while the hurting cry outside
'Cause the Church was meant to be the place where broken walls come down
Where the outcast and the different finally feel like they've been found
How long will we keep preaching love but living out division?
When the answer to our brokenness has always been His vision
We are one body, one family, one hope
Every nation, every color that He chose
Black and white and brown together at His feet
This is what His kingdom looks like when we believe
In Christ there is no Jew or Greek
No slave or free, we're all the same
Beautiful diversity reflecting His great name
We are one body, one body
Let the world see we are one
What if we stopped talking and we started listening?
What if we laid down our pride and really saw the suffering?
What if we believed that every image-bearer matters equally?
What if we became the hands and feet of racial harmony?
No more excuses, no more looking away
No more choosing silence over standing for the sake
Of our convenience, our comfort, our control
It's time to live like Jesus and to love with all our soul
Let justice roll like rivers!
Let mercy flow like streams!
Let love tear down the barriers
And heal what hate has been!
We are one body, one family, one hope
Every nation, every color that He chose
Black and white and brown together at His feet
This is what His kingdom looks like when we believe
In Christ there is no Jew or Greek
No slave or free, we're all the same
Beautiful diversity reflecting His great name
We are one body, called to unity
One Church, one faith, one destiny
Let the walls come down, let the healing start today
We are one body, one body
Let the world see we are one!
One body... one hope...
One Savior... one love...
We are one...
