It’s 6:05 and she’s already left
The alarm still rings at the end of our bed
But I won’t go back to sleep
There’s a park at the end of our street
I bring a ball that I throw to the sky
And repeat that step until I get tired
The ring is a little bent forward
I try to bargain with gravity
But she was never that kind to me

Round the part of the park they don’t want you to stand
Where the rain turned the grass into mud
A young German shepherd knocks one to the floor
He’s yet to learn he’s bigger than them all
He only wanted to play
He fumbles in disparity
Searching for some company
