Organ on the stove and it's starting to simmer
Horn section seasoning, the lights getting dimmer
Hand-claps rising like a Sunday amen
Tell me are you hungry? Then come on in
We been cooking up a feeling all day
Pull up a chair, you ain't gotta pay
Soul kitchen, get a plate
Funk so good that you cannot wait
Soul kitchen, fill your cup
Love on the table, never giving up
Grandmama taught me how to stir up a groove
A pinch of the blues and a reason to move
Everybody's family when the bassline's right
We feed the whole block on a Friday night
We been cooking up a feeling all day
Pull up a chair, you ain't gotta pay
Soul kitchen, get a plate
Funk so good that you cannot wait
Soul kitchen, fill your cup
Love on the table, never giving up
Oh, taste it, taste the love
Sent down from the speakers up above
Stomp your feet and raise it higher
Soul kitchen is a holy fire
Soul kitchen, get a plate
Funk so good that you cannot wait
Soul kitchen, fill your cup
Love on the table, never giving up
