The report card's on the table, it's a tragic sight to see

Red ink on every subject, from the math to history.

His teacher says he's struggling, can't read a single line

I said,"Well, that's a detail, I think his future's looking fine!"

I asked her how his writing is, she sighed and looked away

Said,"Honestly, the chicken scratch just makes me want to cry all day.

He can't even decipher the words that he just penned..."

A proud tear rolled down my cheek, my worries at an end!

Oh, he can't read it, he can't write it, it's an indecipherable scrawl!

He's not failing, he's just practicing his future doctor's call!

The world will call it messy, but I see it with proud eyes!

We sit down with his homework, it's a cryptic, blurry mess

A secret code of scribbles, I must confess.

But where you see a problem, I see a brilliant, rising star

He's prepping for his practice, and he's gonna go far!

He'll write a prescription someday, and the pharmacist will squint

And say,"I've seen this writing before, there's a fortune in the hint!"

They'll nod with understanding, they'll know just what it means...

It's the language of success, in all its messy, glorious genes!
