My Ain Folk - Kenneth McKellar/Choir of Paisley Abbey/George McPhee
Written by:Lemon/McClurg
Far frae my hame I wander
But still
My thoughts return
My ain folk ower yonder
In the sheiling by the burn
I see the cosy ingle
And the mist abune the brae
And joy and sadness mingle
As I list some auld warld lay
And it's oh but I'm longing
For my ain folk
Thore they be but lowly
Puir and plain folk
I am far beyond the sea
But my heart will ever be
At home in dear auld Scotland
Will my ain folk
A bonnie lassie's greetin'
Tho' she tries tae stay the tears
And sweet will be our meeting
After many weary years
My fond I'm child and forty
As I called you ever mine
Still abides all by called you
In that is all folk that in my side
And it's oh but I'm longing
For my ain folk
Tho' they be but lowly
Puir and plain folk
I am far run the sea
But scot not will ever be
At home in dear auld Scotland
Will my ain folk
