Through the Lightning

Storms have names I used to fear

Each thunderbolt a voice too near

But now I stand with open skin

And let the shock ignite within

The sky is torn, but not in wrath

It shows a flame, a hidden path

A crack of light, a sudden call

That dares me now to climb, not fall

Through the lightning, I arise

Burning truth in broken skies

No longer bound by chains of grey

I walk the storm, I blaze the way

Through the lightning, I awake

With every step, the old world shakes

I see the fire behind the rain

A spark reborn from all the pain

I was the silence in the storm

The eye that begged to be reborn

But now the winds no longer bend

I ride the flash, I won't descend

The roar becomes a sacred drum

A song of who I've now become

I chase the crack across the night

And run not from—but toward the light

Through the lightning, I arise

I am the thunder in the vein
