Next door is an old man like 72
He always stops by and tells me the sh*t
He’s been through
Vietnam Veteran He don’t regret a bit of it
Sometimes he tells me bout growin up for the sh*t of it
I asked him what he thinks of hip hop he said
That he’s too old for that
He listens to them oldies that
Classic material basically like The Rolling Stones
Sam Cooke The Beach Boys She’s Leaving Home
By The Beatles Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band
Was on repeat cuz that album was a part of this man
He grew up in California where the sun was always shinin
So he used to hold his cheap radio high up in the sky and
He still won’t forget that always in his memories
Nowadays he said it’s weird how radio’s the enemy
Times change used to be about the music
Now I guess the money took it over so get used to it
Don't turn on the radio
Don't turn on the radio
Don't turn on the radio
Don't turn on the radio
Don't turn on the radio
Don't turn on the radio
Don't turn on the radio
He said I just miss the way that Jimi used to play
I miss the way that Neil Young used to sing
I miss the way the Beatles had us lost in emm
I used to play Bob Dylan down the block
On the radio
He told me how it used to be back in day when
You would Call up a station request a song
And they’d play it
But nowadays its like face it
You better know somebody famous or someone pulling strangs
Cuz honestly it’s b******t f**k the radios full of it
Nowadays you’ll spittin sh*t from the heart
They don’t notice it
I said that’s how it is with rap now
Most the wack clowns on radio eventually will back down
Cuz they don’t get it that this is more than music
This is what the f**k I’m gonna do until I’m too sick
To rhyme words and then I’ll probably quit livin
Probly have a chick with him
Just cuz Truth’s a pimp get it Haha
He asked you ever really listened to listen to music
I mean listen really listen you listenin to it
Every lyric took time every single note was thought out
The radio was in the music biz until they got out
He said I just miss the way that Jimi used to play
I miss the way that Neil Young used to sing
I miss the way the Beatles had us lost in emm
I used to play Bob Dylan down the block
On the radio
Don't turn on the radio
Don't turn on the radio
Don't turn on the radio
Don't turn on the radio
Don't turn on the radio
Don't turn on the radio
Don't turn on the radio
Don't turn on the radio
Don't turn on the radio
Don't Turn On The Radio - Truth Himself
