Depression's a ghost that won't pay the rent
Sits heavy in my chest, every cent spent
Dark rooms whisper, shadows dissent
I pressed on, broke walls that heaven sent
Tears on my pillow, dreams in the sink
Time's a thief, I watched my hopes shrink
Mind tangled like wires, can't find the link
But I pressed on, pulled life back from the brink
I pressed on, through the blackest of skies
Turned my pain into wings, made my soul rise
I pressed on, through the storm and disguise
Found the strength in my lows to reprise
Mirror cracked, but I stared anyway
A thousand shards screamed,"You can't stay"
Heart was a drum with a broken decay
But I pressed on, made the rhythm obey
Every night felt endless, no dawn to chase
A labyrinth of thoughts, couldn't find a space
But I built a ladder out of my disgrace
I pressed on, found the light in my own face
Pressed on, fingers gripping the edge
Life's a tightrope, but I danced on the ledge
Voices told me,"Fall," but I pledged
To press on, a phoenix from the dredge
