What's The Deal?

We set the clock

to get an early start

then decide to stay in bed

We make a plan

to suck the marrow out of life

to find we went online instead

So what’s the deal?

When do we get real?

What’s the deal?

We leave our home

to march for cleaner air

but then we choose to take the car

We’d like to help

and everyone is welcome here

but it depends on who you are

But is it fair?

If we really care

Is it fair?

Christmas come

We’re gladly helping people in need

But comes spring

we’d like to see them back on their feet

Always be kind

and quick to lend a hand

we all sing that same refrain

Would be so nice

to help that lady cross the street

but we don’t want to miss our train

But is it kind?

Do we really find

this is kind?

Christmas come

We’re gladly helping people in need

But comes spring

we’d like to see them back on their feet

We have a choice to take a different road

but we wonder what’s the price

We all agree to say the road is everything

but flying there would be so nice

But is it wise?

Considering the price

is this wise?

Is this insane?

I wonder if it’s sane

Are we sane?

Is this the way?

I wonder what to say

What to say...?
