On the Moon

I felt so Earthbound for so long now,

I turn my eyes up to the sky.

Lord I’m ready for my vacation,

That’s no lie.

Got my food pills in my pocket,

Got a sweet girl by my side.

We’ll catch stardust and ride on moonbeams,

By and by.

‘Cause the sun is getting too hot to bear,

We’re gonna have to leave here pretty soon.

There ain’t nobody here seems to care,

That there ain’t much more than a mile of elbow room.

Set for leaving sometime this evening,

For that big rock way up high.

Ya’ tell your Mama you’re coming with me,

And say goodbye.

We got supplies here, they’ll last a few years,

There ain’t no need for her to cry.

And she can join us with the others,

By and by.

‘Cause the sun is getting too hot to bear,

And everybody’s talking like we’re doomed.

But I’ve got a prayer and I swear,

That soon we’ll all be living on the moon.

Won’t it be nice when we’re all living on the moon.
