why don’t we go deeper
let’s all say a prayer
on our way down in heaven where i love to roll
and are you from down there
it isn’t clear for u
the deeper we go
the closer to home
we should be breathing
just as deep as we can
i think we should open
every window and then
let all the wind rush in
the deeper we go
the closer to home
(standing with a horse by the sea,
facing south, with apollonia howling at the moon
standing by the first floor porch screen door
and been standing there in early june)
i know u remember
it’s burned into yr skin
tattooed down in heaven
come and know love again
why I’m struggling
the deeper we go
the closer to home
again
the deeper we go
the closer to home
