Imagine Peter Gabriel's drumming sense mixed with Penguin Cafe Orchestra and Greg Lake on vocals. Throw in some Parliament choruses and stacked harmonies while swimming in Banshee hurdy gurdy and Ullieann pipes. Just because, throw in some faux Bach string trios with lyrical influences swirling between Bruce Cockburn and Jon Anderson and some Kate Bush. This is Bone Poets Orchestra's 4th record, and it continues and expands their mix of solid grooves, hooky melodies and fun with multiple time signatures. They strike a wonderous balance between Steely Dan-ish guitar solos, Jethro Tull like string trio arrangements and tasty Hammond and piano.
