From the baselines to the chorus hooks, for the past 7 years Jordan Calig has been producing, writing, and developing his own style of music. Calig has joined and collaborated along the way with many different artists that span from genres such as pop/punk to acoustic piano. With all the experience he has gained in the past, in 2009, Jordan Calig produced and recorded his debut solo album Batteries Of Life, which has been the foundation for what he plans to build on with his progression in music. The music can be described from the influences and inspirations of Billy Joel, Phil Collins, John Mayer, and Keane. The sounds are familiar yet distinctive in his approach to grab the listener. The works of Batteries Of Life dive into jazz roots to dirty vocals in a rushing and soaring electronic pop feel. While the layered vocals mount and submerge in the intensifying piano, the lyrics speak truth and honesty in the vein of love, heartache, life, and friends. The album is set to be a prequel to Jordan’s evolving work in the future. Currently, Jordan is working on his second album, which makes to be an interesting leap into a more commercial and beat heavy realm. Calig has been playing and writing in the hopes of furthering his career as a singer/songwriter. Also aside from writing and producing his solo/album, Calig is also an accomplished film composer and videographer. The two worlds of film and music have always coincided through his journey in the arts industry. Whichever avenue he decides to take, Jordan Calig has shown that he has the versatile skills and heart that is needed to be respected and innovative musician.
