"The Spillover Effect" is Chris Hardy's 5th solo album in 5 years. For this one, he took off the restraints of the RPM Challenge (write & record an entire album within the 28 days of February) that had contained him from 2012 through 2015, so he took his sweet time writing & recording this one. The result is a wide variety of acoustic-based indie rock that sometimes sounds like Tom Waits or Beck or Soul Coughing or Tears For Fears, in styles like rock, folk, jazzy, chill, hippie-jam and a cappella.Chris is a multi-instrumentalist who played all the instruments on the album - drums, bass guitars, piccolo bass guitar (there are no standard 6-string guitars on this album), vocals, keyboards and other electronic things.
