Recorded over the course of three live sessions at Edinburgh’s Napier University, Prose features songs from the heart. Arsenia features on acoustic guitar and piano displaying a vast range of emotions in this dynamic performance. Fiona Reid and Liselot Van Oosterom contribute their sturdy yet haunting vocals most prominently on ‘Silhouette’ and ‘Advocate’. On cajon, or box drum, and other miscellaneous percussion is Mark Smith, and on cello and head engineer is Graham Coe of The Jellyman’s Daughter.Avant-garde singer, songwriter, and musician Calvin Arsenia mixes powerful experimental musings with hearty melodies. Self accompanied on the guitar, piano and now primarily the harp, Arsenia blends this emergent sound with contemporary musicians and singers. Since his debut as a performer in early 2010, he has written, arranged, and produced several EPs collaborating with many from all over the world. Arsenia lived and performed in Edinburgh, Scotland for two years and returned to his hometown of Kansas City in early 2014.
