We're a young, local band, native to Dallas, Texas. We really love the scene around here, from Denton (the little d) where we had our first show at Hailey's Bar, to Deep Ellum, where we've played up and down Elm, Commerce, and Main. We've been playing shows around here for about a year and a half, and we've been collaborating musically for close to 5 years. Everything we've done has been an incredible learning experience, and an incredible opportunity for growth and development, within ourselves as well as within the context of our group. And it's all been leading up to this. Sixteen Hands. Sixteen Hands refers to the sum of all of our hands, Spectra and the Interstellar Brass. Unfortunately,"Sixteen Hands and Two Feet" doesn't quite roll off the tongue, so Michael's two additional limbs that he used are left off. But that's not the only thing that we couldn't fit into the title or onto the liner notes. So much has gone into the creation of this album: work, time, money, love, everything. There are so many people to whom we owe so much of the credit for accomplishing this album.
