Having recorded over 20 CD's and albums, OPIO, the original OPIO has been a musician for over 30 years. Originally recording in the Panama Canal Zone at the age of 14, OPIO was influenced mainly by the 3-piece rock bands of the '70's. Jimi Hendricks, Three Dog Night, Santana, Eric Clapton, Foghat, Super Tramp, Ted Nugent and many more. OPIO incorporated much of his influences into his Blues Latino flare creating a style that is typical of the 3-piece bands he loved with a conga player added to the mix. OPIO was also influenced by the funky rhythms of the disco era as many were back then. He makes that distinction by slapping on his bass on occasion and playing a heavy bassline in most of his compositions. OPIO's philosophy is,"if you can't dance to it, it's not going to be remembered."OPIO Latin Rock Band dedicates this album in remembrance of : Clifford Antone whom was the founder of the Austin blues club"Antone's" and independent record label.
