June 2011: Latest release! For the first time ever, Emily Jayne has joined creative forces to create this deliciously diverse album. Even though all the songs were inspired by former relationships, it’s not dripping with sadness, nor is it in-your-face empowering. Rather, Jayne strikes a balance between melancholy (tender piano, emotional vocals) and uplifting jazziness (grooving rhythms, sassy guitar and bass), highlighted by sharp lyrics that draw healing out of humor.Piano, Keyboard & Vocals ~ Emily JayneGuitars, Banjo, Mandolin, Ukulele & Trumpet ~ Travis CrotteauDrums and Percussion ~ Tyler DublaBass ~ Ethan Thompson (tracks 1, 2, 9, 10 & 11)Bass ~ John White (tracks 3 & 7)Acoustic Bass ~ Mark Glen (tracks 4, 5, 6, 7, & 8)Keyboard and Bowed Bass ~ George Ellsworth (track 6)Keyboard ~ James Tyler O'Neill (track 4)Trombone ~ Joy Caza (track 6)All songs written by Emily Jayne. Www.EmilyJayne.comA NOTE FROM EMILY: These songs were inspired by relationships, most disfunctional in one way or another. One song in particular,"The Blue Room," touches on a very sensitive subject: Rape. Unfortunately, this evil is out there in the world. I wrote"The Blue Room" after hearing of a young girl who was sexual assaulted by a caregiver whom I knew in high school. In the honor of her fight for recovery and other victims fighting the same fight, I am donating all sales of the digital MP3 of"The Blue Room" to RAINN.org, a national anti-sexual assault organization. Likewise, 30% of all local profits (Duluth, MN) of the album"Blue Plate Fellas" will be donated to my local support center, PAVSA.org.I would like to thank you for supporting awareness of this terrible crime and helping victims everywhere to find the strength to heal. ♥ Emily Jayne
