Uncle Wayne is a transplant from the U.S. south who settled in Hawaii in 1993 and has since become a folk figure with a cult-like following of"Uncle Wayne head" preschool families. His music reflects his own roots, his love of Hawaii, and his four decades of experience as a preschool educator. Today Uncle Wayne directs the University of Hawaii at Manoa Children's Center, and donates musical performances to public libraries across the Hawaiian islands.The Bald-Headed Chicken album, produced in 1996, includes 12 Uncle Wayne songs that are unforgettable and easy to sing, and that run the gamut from goofy to thoughtful, spooky, and sweet.
