FLOCK-O.D. aka FlockOverdose is a water for your thirst poet on beats. I've been getting tired of the same kind of hip-hop that the radio plays, and I remember last summer going to a party where we were all hanging out in New York City's Spanish Harlem, El Barrio. The music was flowing, the crowd was energetic, the food was right, the drinks were perfect, and the smoke and aroma of some of that good stuff was in the air. I was walking through the back yard (yea it was a brownstone) and stopped to observe a freestyle of some guys just battling and going rhyme for rhyme. I noticed this skinny light skinned guy dressed in some kind of skater apparel, with some fresh Nike dunks holding a bluemoon in his hand and using the bottle as a microphone. When he started rhyming the rest of the crowd just tuned in and you could here the"ohhhh's and ahhhh's" a little bit of laughter, band to me i thought it was the most entertaining part of the night. It was actually crazy in an impressive way. He walked away and I approached him like"yo that was pretty tight" do you perform? He's like"thanks, no I really don't perform tho, but I do record." And he handed me a CD with sharpie writing on it that read"FlocK-O.D. CLOUD 9INE Preview." There were only 4 tracks on that CD, but i was hooked. I played it at some of my parties and all the time in my car and watched as my friends listened and you could see their eyes light up. Some saying, damn we need this...but not as in"them" personally, but as in the hiphop and music world...this sh*t brings something to the table. Not to mention the beats he chose are crazy. FLOCK-O.D. emailed me the mixtape/album, whatever you want to call it, and the entire thing is full of emotion and rawness. Enjoy it or move on. Whatever, you be the judge. -Anonymous
