I've been involved with singing in choir in school since I was 7 years old, but at about the same time in my life I suffered numerous traumatic encounters with some abusive adults who were residents of the community where I grew up. I've always written poetry and short stories that drew a lot of attention, but I must admit that since I was"damaged goods" that I used my talents and the recognition that they brought me for a psychological"bandaid". I've dreamed of writing my own instrumental music my entire life, but never could decide on what kind of instruments to learn. I've always been fascinated with organs, keyboards, and synthesizers, but felt daunted by learning piano. I eventually got involved in a jazz choir in junior high school, but hadn't developed my voice or style enough to gain attention as a soloist. I did learn a lot about theory and could read sheet music in a basic sense. I tried my hand at some basic audio recording in my early years and displayed some talent as a technician. It wasn't until I began to attend church for the first time as a young adult that I started operating soundboards and recording sermons on CD's that I started to get a handle on more serious work. At this time I decided to start to try to uncover large long term memory blackouts from my childhood trauma, and also began performing vocally on worship teams, in church choirs, and in holiday dramatic presentations. By the summer of 1996, I finally began to do some serious business with the Lord about the wrong path that I had taken in my life up to this point. After hitting absolute rock bottom on October 2nd, 1998, between 12 and 1 PM, I finally bowed the knee to Jesus Christ! Up to the age of 31, I had lived north of the Seattle area in the state of Washington, but in early 2002, I moved to the Missoula area in Montana. I had my first exposure to prophetic music in churches there. It wasn't until this time that I began to experience serious relief from my past and became willing and able to forgive my childhood tormentors. In the summer of 2010, I spent some time in Coeur D'Alene, Idaho, and started to produce my first instrumental arrangements using software. I discovered that I had the ability to finish an arrangement in as little as an hour! Early in 2011, I returned to my stomping grounds in Montana, and began writing my first lyrics. I then discovered that it only took me 10 to 15 minutes to write each song! I've written lyrics for about 45 songs, which I intend to eventually debut on other albums. I've produced 91 songs in less than a year, totalling 11 albums, not including compilations. I seek God's guidance in all of my music, whether it's the type and number of instruments or tracks, the overall sound or message of the song, or even the length and title of each work. Like most people with a creative bent, I do my best work when I'm experiencing difficulties or hardships. It is my hope and prayer that I be able and willing to offer the same comfort to others with which"the God of all comfort" comforts me. Although my motives were impure in developing my God-given talents in my formative years, the Lord has"reedeemed the years that the locusts have eaten" and removed my sinful selfishness and bitter, unforgiving, ungrateful spirit through the broken body and shed blood of Christ. I give Him alone the glory for this! Amen.
