专辑《A Far Cry》 简介
Tony Garone and Scott Harris started working together in Heresy in 1973. Other members came and went, but ultimately, Heresy's permanent lineup was formed after guitarist Ed Clark joined in 1976, bassist John Sergio in 1978 and drummer Chris Camilleri in 1980. Tony and Scott always worked on original material while simultaneously playing cover material throughout New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island and Vermont. Their focus for the cover material was Jethro Tull, but also played music by ELP, Genesis, Yes, U.K., Rush, The Who, Moody Blues, Cream, The Beatles, David Bowie and others. The reader poll of the local music newspaper,"Good Times" ranked Heresy as one of the best bands on Long Island.Heresy released a vinyl LP"At The Door" in 1985 (more notable to some because of the appearance of Steve Vai on a couple of tracks), following that up in 1989 with this double-length CD,"A Far Cry." Hours of additional original material were written and recorded in various forms over the years, most remaining unreleased due to the expense of production and manufacturing at the time. However, Heresy will finally be releasing much of that material and more in 2015 and the years to come.Individually, Heresy members have had the pleasure of playing with many notable musicians. For example, Scott has played with Joaquin Lievano (Jean-Luc Ponty) and Andy West (Dixie Dregs). Chris has played with Peter Noone (Herman's Hermits), Micky Dolenz (The Monkees), Badfinger, Joe Walsh and Harry Nilsson. Tony has played with Ian Anderson (Jethro Tull) during his"Rubbing Elbows" tour in Phoenix, AZ.
