Binary numbers become a stew of swirling sound as this four song EP becomes a testament to a band that refuses to conform to the mainstream trends.TV Clinic is one half of former edgy indie rock outfit Genepool. Founded on the eve of the last day of the 20th century, Mark Greenberg, singer/guitarist, and Lori Adams, bassist, decided to dust off and re-record previous ideas they had written in between tour dates. These recordings led to their their debut release,"Sleep Devastation," which received much college radio airplay in the United States and generated enthusiastic feedback from the press.While"Sleep Devastation" focused on the prospect of devastation from an over-abused, dying planet,"*NCRYPT*D" is a quasi-concept EP dealing with the pros and cons of living in a technology-saturated future earth. It is a desparate seach to distinguish oneself from the overwhelming dependency on mechanization. The ominous, eclectic, introspective mood of"Sleep Devastation" has evolved into a cold, turbulent electro-soundscape.The sounds you will hear on"*NCRYPT*D" is the result of a diverse range of influences. Lori spent several years playing in the Drag Triplets, who performed with the likes of Miranda Sex Garden, The New Creatures and God is My Co-Pilot. Early on in her career, she played guitar in Hari-Kari, produced by Dave Spitz of Black Sabbath and managed by Eric Carr of Kiss just prior to his death in 1991. The band performed with Danzig, Suicidal Tendencies and Testament.Mark played guitar in New York bands Windsor Hollow and EAP before teaming up with Steve Vasko of Black Sea to form Genepool. A year after Lori joined on bass, she and Mark began heading in new directions, fusing electronic elements and influences with their guitar-based style.
