"Love cannot come out of emptiness. It is full of reality."-Thomas Merton"My Father’s Shoulders" was born in darkness and blossomed in the light of love.In my most challenging year of 2015came blessings unbounded from every corner of my life:A rose from the hand of my beloved Tebby...the tender care of my sister Rebecca,a visit from my departed brother Tom Dundee, the commitment of my partner Ginny, the dedication of my doctors, and the heartfelt concern of my brothers andmy extended family and friends everywhere.Through all the years I have been lifted up in my work by the support and faith of Tom Maguire, Jim LAmberson, Neil Jay Young, Joyce Cole, Tom Paxton, Wes Weddell, Jane Metcalfe, and scores of others who have taken me into their homes and hearts and encouraged my growth as an artist. The songs in this collection are the prayers that were given to me when I was most in need. From deep in my heart, my gratitude is unending. All songs, vocals, & instruments by David Maloneyexcept Robert M Powell: Weissenborn, National Steel, Pedal Steel GuitarRecorded & Mixed by David MaloneyMastered by Paul Tumolo at Wildplum Recordings, Oakland, CAThank you to all the Kickstarter contributors who made this project possible"David Maloney is a gifted songwriter, singer, and performer… It’s always a great pleasure of mine to share the stage with him… A pro’s pro is what my ol’ trouper Maloney is – just listen to his gift!"-Tom Paxton
