Starting her music career as a bassist and backup singer in her homeland of Tasmania, Animalia performed throughout Australia, Europe and the UK, but it wasn't until the start of 2012, in Toronto, Canada, that she decided to put down the bass and start her own solo career.She released her self-engineered and self-produced debut EP,"To the Waking, the Shaking & the Volatile", in April 2012 and her song “Unity”, the first track from the EP, earned placement in Brandon Cronenberg’s theatrical debut, “Antiviral”, which premiered at Cannes 2012 and TIFF 2012.Playing shows at well-known venues in Toronto, Animalia sets the scene for an intimate and compelling performance and is quickly building her fan base online and at street level.February 2013 will see the release of her 2nd EP, “A Wave to Wash the World Away”, available online and in selected stores. An independent tour of Canadian and American cities will commence in the summer.
