Derek “Melodi” Atocha(Español/Spanish)Nacido y criado en las calles de Boston, Ma, Derek Atocha, mejor conocido como Melodi, llego a sentir pasión por la música desde muy joven cuando su papa mezclaba canciones de Salsa y Bachata en su casa. Melodi pronto sintió amor en escribir sus propias canciones a la edad de 10 años cuando comenzó a improvisar líricas en instrumentales industriales de Hip Hop.Lo que era un hobby pronto se convirtió en dedicación cuando Melodi se unió en un dúo con Adrián “Clave” Escobar. Los dos pronto comenzaron a trabajar junto componiendo varios temas de diferentes conceptos e ideas. Melodi, recién graduado de la Universidad de UMass Amherst, aplico técnicas aprendidas proyectando una música mas profesional.Ahora los dos están trabajando en un disco titulado, “Directo Al Punto”, en el cual enfoca una mezcla del Reggaeton Commercial y el Reggaeton underground en una forma bailable, amable y seductivo.Con el apoyo del publico y amigos cercanos Melodi & Clave han compartido escenario con muchos artistas locales de Boston como Dominic Marte y para el futuro cercano planean lanzar su disco al mercado y tener la oportunidad de demostrar el talento en presentaciones futuras. Melodi & Clave seguirán componiendo y creando música por el amor al genero urbano y la pasión por la música.(Ingles/English)Born and raised in the streets of Boston, Derek Atocha, better known as Melodi, became aware of his love for music ever since he was a young boy listening to his father mix Salsa and Bachata songs at home. Melodi quickly grew a passion for writing his own songs at the age of sixteen when he would freestyle over commercial Hip Hop instrumentals.What once was a hobby soon became dedication once he united with Adrian “Clave” Escobar to form the duo Melodi & Clave. Both worked together releasing songs of various concepts and ideas. Melodi, a recent graduate of The University of Massachusetts Amherst, took a professional route with his music when he applied what he learned in school to his music.Taking the most effective marketing tactic Melodi looked to further his professional music career by expanding exposure. Now both are currently working on a mixtape titled, “Directo Al Punto,” in which demonstrates the collaborative mixture of commercial Reggaeton and Reggaeton underground in a danceable, loveable, and seductive manner.With the support of the public and closest friends Melodi & Clave have shared stages with many local Boston talents including Bachatero Dominic Marte and plan on presenting themselves in many more opportunities after the mixtape is released. Cuando niño Clave participaba en muchas actividades deportivas como futbol y béisbol y siempre ha sido muy activo en su inclinación hacia la música. Ya a la edad de once años Clave practicaba tocando el piano y el violín tomando clases para mejorar y desarrollar su talento y destrezas musicales y entender las diferencias en los instrumentos.A los quince Clave comenzó a rapear con Melodi en instrumentales comerciales de Hip Hop y entonaba de vez en cuando. No fue hasta la edad de 16 años Clave comenzó a darle mas practica a su voz y mejorarse como cantante y escribiendo coros de diferente temas.A los 18 años de edad Clave tomo una ruta professional con la música cuando enfoco la majoría de su tiempo a la música colaborando con muchos artistas de Boston y alquilando su talento musical. Clave grababa y producía muchas canciones y creaba pistas de Reggaeton tocando el piano y usando tecnología como Fruity Loops.Años después Clave participo en muchas presentaciones locales en Boston cantando al lado de cantantes locales. Clave seguirá trabajando duro para el publico que lo ha apoyado desde su comienzo hasta ahora y demostrándole la pasión y amor por la música desde su infancia.(Ingles/English)Living in the streets of Boston, Adrian Escobar, better known as Clave, was always inclined to music since childhood. Clave was always involved in extra curricular activities and active in the progression of his musical talent. When he was eleven years old, Clave practiced playing the piano and violin while taking classes to better understand the differences in instrumentation.At age fifteen, Clave began to rap along side Melodi on Hip Hop industry instrumentals and would sing from time to time. It wasn’t till age sixteen that Clave began to take his singing professionally and practiced on a daily basis. He wrote choruses of different themes and concepts. At age eighteen, Clave took a professional route with his music when he began to focus the majority of his time on creating and producing music. Collaborating with many local talents and sharpening his musical talents, Clave recorded and produced songs and created reggaeton beats by playing the piano and using production programs such as Fruity Loops.Years later Clave participated in many local presentations in Boston singing along side local artists. Clave will continue to work hard for the supporters that have been there since day one and demonstrate his love for the music that raised him since his youth.
