Udi Levy is a fantastic jazz/rock guitarist. He is, without a doubt, one of the most well-versed, dynamic, & passionate guitarists on the east coast.I have been working with him, on and off for the better part of 7 years. I was the drummer in the David Easton Band at the time and we needed a funky guitarist, and we were lucky enough to find Udi!!Over the years, Udi has played on a number of my productions, but we'd never worked on a full album project together. I figured the time was right to finally do it! What initially was going to be a 6 track E.P. turned into a full album! There were too many ideas in my head to limit the project to just a few tracks.Another guitarist i've worked with for many years, Mano Reza, makes an appearance on two of the album's tracks. My influences and inspirations (to name a few) for this album were artists like George Duke, Herbie Hancock, Prince, Funkadelic, CHIC/Nile Rodgers, George Benson, Tangerine Dream, Kraftwerk, Pink Floyd, & many others. Both Udi and myself are very happy with the results here, and we hope you will find a lot to enjoy here as well. Credits:All selections written, composed, arranged, & produced by REENO(Except"The Burden of Civilization is upon us...." written by REENO & Udi Levy)All rhythm & lead guitars performed by UDI LEVYAll synths, drums, percussion, programming, & sound design by REENOAdditional guitars on"No Wining or Dining" &"JungleJazz" performed by MANO REZA Recorded, Mixed, & Mastered by REENO @Spazzoid Studio, NYC (The Home of The FUNK!)"A VERY SPECIAL REENO MIX"Note: This album was mastered without the use of any mix bus compression, peak limiting, or brickwalling, in an attempt to preserve 100% of the natural dynamics in each mix. As a result, the album will appear quieter than most current commercial releases. We recommend using your volume knob, as it is your friend. What some people are saying about this album..."I would like to formally congratulate James Reeno and Udi Levy on their most recent collaboration! Their new cd arrived in the mail earlier this week and it is spectacular. As a 70s girl growing up near Detroit and listening to all Detroit Rock City sounds (techno, freestyle, hip hop, jazz, funk, Motown, and yacht rock), I can be a tough critic. Their cd, titled Quandrant 77, is SO DANG GROOVY! The collaboration perfectly intermeshes old school analog with modern day/relevant electric guitar. I hear a lot of George Benson and Joe Satriani. James stays true to his flair for ElectroFunk and Udi Levy allows for huge crossover appeal. Smooth Jazz, Freestyle, Funk, and Rock & Roll lovers will appreciate the dynamism, versatility, and unpredictable progression of this production! I have listened to every track many times now and each time they sound fresh and reveal something I had not heard the previous time. Clearly a lot of love and attention went into this very tight tag team’s work! Way to go, Gentlemen!I am sure most everyone will declare different tracks as their preferred compared to my own, but my personal favs are: Track 3 (DMX), Track 6 (Earth), and Track 10 (The Burden of Civilization is upon us...) Go check em out and give them a shout!"--LEIGH DIETZ"Picked this up on iTunes last week. I love every track! It has a lot of familiar sounds, but yet I can't say I've heard anything like it. Glad to know people are still making music like this"--TOM LINDENMUTH
