I started playing guitar as an adult to"play" music, not just listen to it. I had no idea I would even attempt to create my own songs. But one day, several years ago, doodling around on my axe, I thought I could hear a future song. That eventually became Walkin' the Dog. From there, it was one idea at a time, many discarded along the way, and some disparate ideas morphed into one piece. It has been a fun journey, and this CD represents the culmination of my efforts. I am not trying to be a rock and roll star, it's a little late for that, but I do hope the listener hears the passion and joy in having written and performed these songs. Having been a fighter pilot fueled my patriotism and respect for our military. The freedoms which it defends was never far from my mind while creating the CD. When I started, it would have been hard to believe that the country would take such a hard left turn towards socialism, with the government concocting more and more schemes to take power from the citizens and give it to themselves. As it's been said,"the bigger the government, the smaller the Citizen." So as a true believer in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, including the 2nd Amendment, I dedicate this CD to the men and women of America who contribute to our society, honor the opportunities it has to offer, believe in the equality of all, and encourage others less fortunate to rise up, rather than bring the successful down.
