The idea for the title song 'Marie Celeste (wish i was here)'came from a postcard I picked up many years ago. It set me thinking how nice it would be to somehow wish myself away back through happy memories. As I was writing the song the T.V. series 'Life on Mars' was being aired, and some of this also worked it's way into the track.'End of Day's' is a song about loss, and is based upon my own experiences, both personal and throughout my career as Carer and Nurse. It's kind of sad but I hope also a celebration of how love can hold us together, even through this change in state.In 'Hung Up On You', I've tried to imagine a bitter relationship break up, and written the song from this perspective.With the last track, 'Together', I wanted to write a song that is both a love song, but also slightly sinister. I also wanted a song that would begin in quite a gentle way and then build to a noisy and angry finish.
