Guy is noted as one of Australia/ Asia’s finest modern guitarist.The Guy Le Claire Trio was formed in Hong Kong in the historic year of 1997.The Trio, comprised of Peter Scherr on double bass, Anthony Fernandes on drums with Guy on guitar, played regularly at the HK Jazz Club and many other venues around Hong Kong at this time… It was an exciting period as Hong Kong prepared for the countdown to return to China, with lots of gigs and opportunities.On June 15th, 1997 Guy, Anthony & Peter performed and recorded (by Skip Moy) the 1st CD “Guy Le Claire Trio Live at the Jazz Club -3”. This CD sat at the top of jazz charts of HMV and other record stores for a good period.
