It’s a fair question, as is what is Fool’s Gold?FG is, as the simplest answer, an acoustic duo playing original songs which sound a lot like traditional folk music.Steve and Carol Robson make up Fool’s Gold and between them play a lot of instruments both live and in the studio; there’s a list below for those who are interested in that sort of thing.More important than the instruments is the music. The songs are nearly all narrative – that is they have a story to tell. The words and the music try to get that story across and in a way that enjoyable, fun and instrumentally challenging – that keeps us on our toes. That’s why there are often instrumental passages and asides running alongside sing-along choruses. We’re out to have fun and don’t see why you shouldn’t have some too.Steve plays: Taylor 810 CE Taylor 210 CE Ovation CSE225-8TY Twin Neck Mandolin 8 String Uke Bass Guitar KeyboardCarol plays: Martin Tenor Guitar Ozark Tenor Guitar Tanglewood Acoustic Guitar Flute Low and High Whistles Kala u-BassFool’s Gold will play, and play happily for anyone who wants to listen.
