The Green Book of EdgewaterYears ago a young boy named Joe experienced a tragedy in his life. As he mourned, he found a place under a highway overpass to listen to the church bells and think - the only place he felt peace. The chimes made him think of the summer afternoon he and his mother played along with the bells on his toy piano and made up a song together. Those were happy times. In his grief, while taking a lonely walk along the banks of Lake Erie, Joe found an old worn-out diary. It belonged to a boy who had once faced a similar tragedy. This green journal became a great source of comfort to Joe because it revealed how both boys dealt with their tragedies on their own. Its unknown author seemed to have had many of the same sorrows Joe was having. The green book he found near the water’s edge became a source of security for him.
