I’m a long-time singer, musician, songwriter and composer. I have been a full-time worship leader for the last nine years and am currently serving as Minister of Music at a local church. I write contemporary Christian songs and also enjoy musical direction, composition and orchestration for the musical stage. For the last 13 years I have also had success as a private vocal instructor. My music may be a bit hard to classify. I like so many different styles of music, I write whatever I hear in my head. Might be a rock song, a jazz song, an acoustic folk song, or orchestral. Whatever it might be, I believe that God is putting that on my heart and in my head, and I need to write it and get it out there for folks to hear. God will do the rest. One thing is certain. I grew up in the 1960's and 1970's and listened to the popular rock and progressive rock bands of the time. Now it's called"Classic Rock." Only it wasn't"classic" then, it was current! So a lot of my songs do have a classic rock type of vibe. Can't help it. It was all burned into my brain many years ago. Too many Zeppelin and Yes concerts! Good news is for me is that Classic Rock as a radio genre is still very much alive. Old guys rock!I also listened to a lot of jazz and theater music growing up. I played trumpet all through my school years. That got me into guys like Dizzy Gillespie, Doc Severinsen, Stan Getz, and of course, Louis Armstrong. And other guys like that. Great jazz players. Got into jazz band playing second trumpet and started arranging my own charts at 16 years young. Loved it. I grew up with show music too, and I actually got into acting about 15 years ago and have done a ton of shows, and even won several acting awards. That got me into composing and orchestrating for the theater, which I really love. I hope to do more of that. Anyway, that should give you some idea of what my musical influences are, and why I do what I do. I love writing about my Savior Jesus Christ. He gave me the gifts and abilities to sing, play, and write music, so it is for Him and about Him that I offer up those gifts. I pray you are blessed by what you hear! God Bless!
