Anthony Gauff was born in Phoenix, Arizona. He grew up surrounded by music having a love for string instruments, he began playing the guitar around the age of eight. His Dad and Grandfather both played the guitar, they are now deceased. Anthony also loved singing and began to develop his natural tenor voice singing solos in church at the age of ten. Growing up, his musical influences was George Benson( in which he had the opportunity to play with in Arizona), Jazz Artist Stanley Clark, Gladys Night, Chaka Khan, and also the late Michael Jackson. Tony joined the Jazz band in High School and every other music class he could fit into to his schedule. Tony started a band during his school years, entering and winning many talent contests. In the 80s, Tony entered a State wide MJ look and sound alike contest put on by 1060KQ Radio station in Arizona, and won 1st place due to the natural sound of his voice. For several years, Anthony performed around town singing in clubs/resorts and opening concerts for many well known Gospel, Jazz and R&B Artist. In 2006 Anthony Gauff released his first CD called “The Key” under the name Tony Gauff, which was an inspirational CD. After being involved in an auto mobile accident in 2007, Tony took a few years off from performing to heal, but never stopped writing. Anthony relocated to St. Petersburg Florida, spending a lot of time on the beach and reflecting back on his life. Tony was inspired to write the CD “You Are Loved” which includes twelve heartfelt Love songs to be released in 2012 under his first name Anthony Gauff. All the songs tell an amazing story that will draw you in. Anthony would hope that these songs would encourage people to not only to feel loved but to give love and have hope for a good life. Anthony Gauff is excited to hit the stage once again, he is working on an international world tour bringing a lot of energy and excitement to his fans. Tony is currently unsigned to a major label but stated he would sign to one of the major labels, if offered the right deal. Either way Tony said he will continue to write and dream up new songs, and offer his music to the world. What drives the man behind the music? Anthony states, I am the music and the music is me. From a very young age I have always been fascinated with tones, sounds and instruments. I love to try and play them all, most of all, I love to sing. Many times when I am a sleep the songs and ideals come to me and once it gets in my head I have to create the song and bring it to life. Most of the time the song writes itself, I just allow the energy to flow though me, so sometimes when I’m in the studio, I have to stop and meditate to complete the song and if this is one of my songs that I am playing all the instruments I have to teach myself all the parts. I enjoy being in the studio and creating new tunes, but most of all I miss the stage and fans that come out to see me perform, I love and appreciate you the fans that like what I do, and I will do my best to get new music out in a timely fashion and hope to be in concert in a city near you.
